Entry requirements

The Role

We’re looking for a dynamic Junior Content Producer to join our External Affairs Department.

You’ll work with designers, writers and marketers to create and deliver all kinds of content, from video to graphics, writing to photography.

This content might be used for public relations (PR) projects, social media, press, comms, brochures, advertising and more

Skills Required

The aim is to create engaging content that communicates our messages to our audiences such as our residents, local politicians, councils and the press/media.

You will:

  • help create content to effectively communicate Catalyst’s key messages to our target audiences, such as our residents, local politicians and councils
  • with the guidance of your colleagues you will develop content for creative public relations projects that enhance Catalyst’s reputation
  • work with colleagues from across the business to create and publish content to contribute to our communications and stakeholder plans on our major building projects
  • support the organisation and promotion of consultation and engagement events
  • support the team in helping them prepare communications for distribution through electronic, social and printed media. This could include (but is not limited to) newsletters, brochures, exhibition materials and advertisements as well as online channels
  • create online and social media content to ensure up to date information is available and so we maximise the use of these channels
  • assist the team with pulling together information for briefings and presentations
  • help organise and attend meetings where you will take minutes and report actions
  • contribute to putting together awards submissions
  • gather information in response to media enquiries
  • keep calendars, plans, libraries of information and contacts up to date

Candidate Profile

You’ll be a great communicator with an interest in housing, content creation and working in external affairs. We’re all about great customer service, so you’ll genuinely care about our company and our customers.

We’re not expecting you to be the finished article, but you’ll need a can-do attitude and willingness to learn.

  • good written and verbal communication skills
  • good interpersonal skills: you can work well with others
  • demonstrate an interest in working in an external affairs/communications role
  • demonstrate an interest and/or some experience of using different communications methods
  • an interest in working in housing
  • ability to use own initiative and work to deadlines
  • you will be totally committed to delivering excellent customer experience – being easy, reliable and empathetic in the way you deal with customers, and colleagues
  • able to travel to & between various sites throughout the Catalyst area of operations
